Why care facilities are exploring RoomGuardian

Our AI-powered prevention solution is designed to detect key risk situations in care environments, including falls, distress calls, abnormal immobility, early fire signals, carbon monoxide emissions, glass break sounds and environmental anomalies.

By combining signals from 11 complementary sensors, NestSentinel creates a more complete understanding of what is happening in the room — helping support more reliable detection and better-informed alerts.

Fall detection

RoomGuardian is designed to detect sudden changes in position and help trigger a critical alert when a fall is suspected.

Carbon monoxide emission

RoomGuardian is designed to detect elevated carbon monoxide levels and help alert care teams to a potential gas risk.

Early-stage fire

RoomGuardian can combine abnormal heat, carbon monoxide and flame-related signals to support early fire risk detection.

Distress cry

RoomGuardian can identify characteristic distress sounds or calls for help and support faster staff awareness.

How RoomGuardian works

Designed to respect residents’ privacy

RoomGuardian by NestSentinel is based on a three-layer architecture designed to combine discreet in-room detection, fast local analysis, and secure access to information.

Instead of relying on traditional video surveillance or wearables, it uses non-intrusive detection technologies such as thermal patterns, presence sensing, and audio event analysis — without identifying residents or recording conversations.

This approach helps make the solution more acceptable for residents, families, care teams, and facility directors.

Not yet. RoomGuardian is currently in pre-production and preparing for field pilots with selected care facilities through the NestSentinel Pioneer Facility Programme. Commercial deployment will follow the pilot phase and the availability of the CE-marked production series.

RoomGuardian is a prevention and assistance system, not a medical device, and does not replace existing care, monitoring, or emergency protocols.

The programme follows a structured, co-designed process:

Initial discussion → Pilot scoping → Assisted installation → Monitoring and feedback → Shared review

Together with each facility, NestSentinel defines the pilot environment, establishes an initial baseline, and selects measurable validation criteria. These may include responsiveness, alert relevance, privacy and resident acceptance, staff experience, and perceived usefulness.

No. Joining the waitlist or requesting a presentation simply opens a discussion with the NestSentinel team. It does not commit your organization to a pilot, a purchase, or a future deployment.

A pilot only begins once its scope, responsibilities, timeline, resident information process, and validation criteria have been agreed by both parties. Any commercial deployment would require a separate agreement after the pilot.

No. RoomGuardian is designed to support care teams, not replace them. The goal is to help detect risk situations earlier and provide more relevant alerts.

No traditional video surveillance is used. RoomGuardian is designed around non-intrusive detection, including thermal patterns, presence detection, environmental sensors, and audio event analysis without recording conversations.

NestSentinel’s architecture includes a local Edge server so the system can continue operating locally, with data synchronization when the Internet connection returns.

Yes. NestSentinel welcomes interest from both individual facilities and organizations managing several care environments.

Facility directors, care managers, innovation teams, healthcare groups, medical-social organizations, and partners interested in senior or vulnerable care safety technology can request an early presentation.
