Launched by VivaTech, the Tech For Change initiative highlights startups using technology to address major societal challenges. For its 2026 edition, VivaTech presents Tech For Change as a recognition and award dedicated to impactful exhibiting startups, across areas including society and health.
For NestSentinel, this recognition confirms the relevance of a project built around a clear mission: improving safety while preserving privacy, dignity, and independence.

NestSentinel was designed to help detect falls, calls for help, early-stage fires, and other risk situations in care environments â without requiring residents to wear a bracelet or press a button. The solution combines embedded AI, local edge computing, and secure cloud infrastructure to send alerts within seconds, even if the Internet connection is unavailable.
At the heart of the project is a simple belief: technology should support caregivers and families without making vulnerable people feel monitored. NestSentinelâs approach is based on privacy by design, using thermal, audio, and radar signals to detect situations without identifying faces or recording conversations.
A deeply personal project
Beyond the technology, NestSentinel was born from a deeply personal story and a real-life question: how can we better protect someone we love, without taking away their privacy or independence?
This question continues to guide the project today.
Being recognized as Tech For Change by VivaTech 2026 is a strong encouragement for the team and a sign that the need for safer, more respectful care technologies is gaining visibility.

NestSentinel will be present at VivaTech 2026 in Paris, from June 17 to June 20, and will be exhibiting on the Hauts-de-France stand on Wednesday and Saturday.
This will be an opportunity to meet the team, discover the project, and discuss the future of fall detection, risk prevention, AgeTech, and non-intrusive safety technologies for older adults and vulnerable people.
